Google will lift sanctions from hacked sites itself

28.08.2025

Google Webmaster developers have announced the ability to automatically check websites for malicious code. This refers to websites that have previously been hacked or suspected of distributing malware or harming users’ computers.

At the moment, moderators impose sanctions on such a site, and they can only be removed by contacting technical support.

Now Google will constantly visit sites that have received sanctions and check whether viruses have been removed from the site. If everything is fixed, the sanctions will be removed automatically, without the need to send a request to technical support.

Manual sanctions can be viewed in the Google Search Console section “Manual actions”. Problems related to site security are also in this section.

In the near future, Google plans to show a tool that a webmaster can use to find out the reason for a site’s infection and get a strategy for getting rid of viruses.

Hacking is a serious problem for many sites that run on popular CMS. Hackers hack sites to secretly place links and steal personal information about site visitors.
